Terms of Service
Last updated: July 11, 2026 · Effective: July 11, 2026
Quick summary: Gronte is a social trivia game. Provide accurate info when signing up, be respectful to other players, no cheating or abuse. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that harm our users. The service is provided "as is."
1. Acceptance
By using or creating an account on Gronte (the "Service") you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
2. The Service
Gronte is a mobile application and backend service that offers real-time multiplayer trivia (quiz) gameplay. Users may create and play quizzes, host sessions to compete with other players, make friends, and earn levels and achievements.
3. Account & Your Responsibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 are encouraged to use the Service with parental or guardian consent.
- You must provide accurate and current information (email, nickname) at registration.
- You are solely responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity occurring under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One person may create only one account. Fake, multiple, or impersonation accounts are prohibited.
- Your nickname is shown to other users and must not contain insults, obscenity, or content that infringes others' rights.
4. User Content
Quizzes, questions, answers, nicknames, avatars, and any other content you create constitute "User Content."
- Ownership: You retain all rights to your User Content.
- License: By posting User Content on Gronte, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, distribute, and display the content solely for operating the Service. This license is perpetual. When you delete your account, your private drafts are deleted, while quizzes you shared publicly are not deleted but are anonymized (the authorship link is removed) and may remain in the Service — see the Privacy Policy.
- Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring your User Content does not violate any law or third-party rights (copyright, trademark, personality rights).
- Moderation: We reserve the right to remove, hide, or suspend content or accounts that violate community guidelines or applicable law, with or without prior notice.
- Reporting & blocking: You can report inappropriate content and block abusive users from within the app. We review incoming reports and, where we find a violation, typically remove or hide the content within 24 hours and ban repeat offenders where necessary. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content (abuse, harassment, sexual content, etc.).
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on the Service:
- Cheating, bots, automated scripts, or any tool that disrupts gameplay flow
- Insulting, harassing, discriminatory, hateful, or threatening behavior toward other users
- Sexual content, child sexual abuse material, violence, terrorism, or illegal-activity promotion
- Copyright infringement or unauthorized use of others' intellectual property
- Sharing personal data (yours or others') without consent
- False information, deceptive advertising, fraud, spam
- Reverse-engineering the Service or attempting unauthorized access to source code
- Overloading servers, DDoS attacks, brute-force attempts, or similar attacks
- Any use that violates applicable laws or public order
Accounts that violate these rules may be suspended or terminated without warning.
6. Premium & Payments
Gronte may offer paid (Premium) subscription features in the future. In that case:
- Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store; we do not see your payment card details.
- Subscription terms (price, renewal, cancellation) are governed by the rules of the relevant store.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time via the store's account settings.
- Your statutory consumer rights remain reserved.
7. Intellectual Property
The Gronte name, logo, mascot (Gront), user interface, sticker designs, source code, and all related intellectual property rights belong to the developer Gökhan Yılmaz. Use of the Service grants you only a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license for personal, non-commercial use. This license does not extend to republishing the Service on other platforms, commercial use, or creating derivative works.
8. Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue features, content, design, or behavior of the Service, with or without prior notice. Temporary outages may occur due to force majeure, technical maintenance, or security reasons.
9. Termination
- By you: You may delete your account at any time via the in-app "Delete Account" button. Your personal data (game history, achievements, friendships) is permanently deleted; quizzes you shared publicly are anonymized rather than deleted and may remain in the Service (see the Privacy Policy).
- By us: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, in case of breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal obligation. If you have an active Premium subscription, refunds are governed by the store's refund policy.
10. Warranty Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, virus-free, or fully secure. We do not warrant the accuracy of quiz content, the suitability of user content, or fitness of the Service for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gronte (including its developer) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (loss of profit, data, reputation, etc.) arising from the use of the Service. Our total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (if any) during the 12 months preceding the claim.
This limitation does not affect your mandatory rights as a consumer under applicable Turkish or EU consumer-protection law.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. Failing that, the Istanbul (Çağlayan) Central Courts and Enforcement Offices shall have jurisdiction. Consumers retain the right to apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts in their country of residence under EU consumer law.
13. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. The "last updated" date at the top indicates the current version. Continued use of the Service after the change constitutes acceptance of the new version.
